That’s the true legacy- I would like to see
If you love your children- well you just have to let them be
Free to explore-The world they will find
With all of its beauty-but too often unkind
Their Hearts may get broken- and their wings may get burned
But if you’ve prepared them- they will be alright- just give them:
Roots to grow high on-and wings to fly
A heart full of love-and a mind free to ask why.
You don’t need to be rich-this doesn’t cost you a dime
All you have to give them- is love without conditions
It’s simple and pure – let them know who they are
tell them where they come from – and where all the safe places are
Let them ask you questions –you don't need to be shy
Keep their mind wide open-by telling the truth and no lies
