progress

Well, there are 6 songs "in the can" for the CD project and the final 3 are being developed.

I found a great old record of Lazy Dawg in my archives. I may rewrite one of my old '75 tunes for the new CD. I have to finish the next chapter in the book saga as well. Busy, busy, busy. I am not giving up anything for Lent but, I am adding a 15 minute meditation to my daily routines. Just to clear my head of cobwebs and garbage and listen to what my inner voice says. Lots of decisions ahead to be made.

Hope life is good for you out there.

on the wings of horses

Well, another week has started, another few pounds have been shed.
The effect on my body has been very profound. 40 pounds in four weeks. Amazing. I am beginning to think of myself as the incredible shrinking man. It's all good though!
Time to get back to writing. Next installment of Garage Band Blues will be posted this week.

more lyrics from MnbB

“Roots to grow on”

That’s the true legacy- I would like to see
If you love your children- well you just have to let them be
Free to explore-The world they will find
With all of its beauty-but too often unkind
Their Hearts may get broken- and their wings may get burned
But if you’ve prepared them- they will be alright- just give them:
Roots to grow high on-and wings to fly
A heart full of love-and a mind free to ask why.
You don’t need to be rich-this doesn’t cost you a dime
All you have to give them- is love without conditions
It’s simple and pure – let them know who they are
tell them where they come from – and where all the safe places are
Let them ask you questions –you don't need to be shy
Keep their mind wide open-by telling the truth and no lies
Roots to grow high on-and wings to fly
A heart full of love-and a mind free to ask why.
Someday when their older – and life has passed you by
When you’re just a memory – a bright star in the sky
They will tell their children – the truth you left behind
The words are still nestled – in your children’s mind
And as they look down on - their wide eyed child
Your words will come to them - over endless space and time
Roots to grow high on-and wings to fly
A heart full of love-and a mind free to ask why.
(just give them)
Roots to grow high on-and wings to fly
A heart full of love-and a mind free to ask why
(just give them)
Roots to grow high on-and wings to fly
A heart full of love-and a mind free to ask why
Free to ask why

Another song from MnbB

“Little bit”

Little bit of this, little bit of that
That what’s my life’s become
Without you, without you.
Little bit of this, little bit of that
But nothing’s complete
Without you, without you.
2 o’clock in the morning, I’m sitting in my room
Playing my guitar, to no particular tune.
Looking out of my window, to the street below.
Lights’ reflecting in the water, and now it’s starting to snow.
And I cannot help it, no I cannot help it, that I’m still in love with you.
Everywhere I look, I see memories of you.
Pictures on the mantle, photographs of me and you.
Yes, you’ve been gone a while now, to me it’s only yesterday
I still hear your laughter chasing dark clouds away.
And I cannot help it; no I cannot help it, that I’m still missing you.
Little bit of this, little bit of that
That what’s my life’s become
Without you, without you.
Little bit of this, little bit of that
But nothing’s complete
Without you, without you.
I know I should move on now, that’s what my friends all say.
But I don’t want to end it, and chase my dreams away
I’ll just keep on dreaming you’ll change your mind someday
Then I’ll be here waiting you’ll take my blues away.
Little bit of this, little bit of that
That what’s my life’s become
Without you, without you.
Little bit of this, little bit of that
But nothing’s complete
Without you, without you.
